As each client is unique, the duties may vary from assignment to assignment, but typically include one or more of those listed below:

  • Bathing, washing, shaving and oral hygiene
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Using the toilet
  • Housework
  • Manual handling
  • Meal preparation
  • Handling personal possessions and documents
  • Cooking
  • Companionship
  • Shopping for groceries or clothes
  • Accompanying client to appointments
  • Liaising with clients' relatives
